Alquant ProTech has been launched.

30/07/2020 - Alquant ProTech has been launched. The product is now available as a tracker certificate.

After a successful paper trading period which included the drawdown due to COVID-19 in March 2020, we are delighted to announce the launch of Alquant ProTech. Alquant ProTech is available as a tracker certificate, issued by UBS AG.

Alquant ProTech is a dynamically managed technology- and growth-oriented equity portfolio for risk-seeking investors, whose primary objective is to achieve excess returns compared to the NASDAQ-100 by employing leverage and maintaining long-only positions in equity and volatility derivatives. Investment decisions are strictly rule-based, using quantitative and scientific approaches to identify and respond to changes in market conditions.

ProTech performance during paper trading
*Performance shown for paper trading period Oct 31, 2018 until Jul 30, 2020

With new technology trends such as self-driving cars, artificial intelligence and the internet of things, on their way to maturity, the future potential of technology impact remains high, which leads us to conclude that this is the right time to issue a product with technology focus. Furthermore, the volatility of the tech sector supports our quantitative methods and allows us to play our strengths in volatility trading.

The product is made for investors who believe that technology will have the biggest impact in the coming years but are aware of the staggeringly high valuations and the rapidly changing environment, and therefore seek at the same time downside protection.
